Re: [eclipse.org-planning-council] Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Re: EclipseCon memory stick and Ganymede M5
|
1) Most Ganymede projects/frameworks want to promote themselves with
adopters
2) Not having Ganymede materials on the stick makes such promotion more
difficult among EclipseCon attendees ('adopters' and 'users')...because
the attendees have to do more to use/try/hear about those projects

Scott,
So now you've lost me - sorry for being dense, but how does having EPP
packages on the EclipseCon memory stick detract from project teams
recruiting more adopters? (Note that I'm using the term "adopter" to
mean someone who is building a product on top of Eclipse and "end
user" to mean someone who is using Eclipse, perhaps installing
additional plug-ins, but is not building a product on the frameworks
-- maybe the problem is that we're using the same words to talk about
different concepts?)

But what's missing here is that many/most projects are typically
looking to Ganymede, EPP packages and even EclipseCon itself to get
more/new adopters...not just make the download easier for existing
adopters.
