Yes, this is the way to go. The regex of the Build-Output provider
has improved, so it's not as painful as before. Here's my setup:
Got To "C/C++ General" → "Preprozessor Include Paths, Macros, etc" →
"Providers"
Disable everything but "Built-in Compiler Settings", "Build Output
Parser" and "Compilation Database Parser
"
For the "Built-in Compiler Settings" replace "${COMMAND}" with your
compiler.
For "Compilation Database Parser" add
"${ProjDirPath}/build/compile_commmands.json" or whatever as path
and select the "Build-Output-Parser".
If you are using some fancy compiler you might need to adjust the
"Build Output Parser"-Regexp, but that shouldn't be necessary any
more.
