Re: [udig-devel] Setting up uDig 1.2 development in Eclipse - some progress but still no-go

Hi David,

Hi Ugo, I think that would be helpful. How many are there that need to
be fixed?
don't know, really. My offer is to go through all manifests and make
sure all things udig trunk are 1.2 (it might be that 0.0.0 works, but
that's magic for me). Most of all I'd like to see dependencies to test
plugins being removed, and I reckon there's only a handful of those.
I think most people don't notice the difference when running under
eclipse, but I've had udig running outside eclipse (IDE) and ran into
trouble. As said, making sure the plugins are correctly versioned helps!
Cheers,
Ugo
I'm thinking of wiping out my test environment and starting all over
again to see if things go more smoothly.

Hello,
This "step" was used to make sure the version numbers were correct
(since they end up being slightly different between win32, macosx
etc...). My understanding is Jesse found a way of depending on RCP
without being specific about the version number. When I have
confirmed that this step is no longer needed I will update the docs.
Lastly, when I try to validate plug-ins in the Run Configurations",
there are many errors like "Missing Constraint: Require-Bundle:
org.eclipse.core.espressions; bundle-version="0.0.0"
Interesting; those are the plugins that should of showed up with the
dependency on the RCP feature.
For your info: there are application plugins depending on test plugins
and others depending on 0.0.0. I've run into trouble when osgi
couldn't find missing plugins. It was just a matter of updating the
manifests to make sure udig trunk is versioned 1.2.0 through out.
I can help track this down, and send you a list of wrong manifests.
Shall I?
Cheers,
Ugo
