A quick outsider's perspective relating to Ian's point #4 below... I had been using Mosquitto for several months before I happened to be browsing Eclipse IoT and ran across a Mosquitto project there. I was very confused and didn't know if Mosquitto was a project that was joining Eclipse or a project that had left Eclipse, or if these were unrelated projects of the same name. It wasn't until the website discussion began here (another 6 months into my use of Mosquitto) that I understood what the situation was.
