Re: [krazo-dev] TCK documentation review

Hi all,

aaah, I tested against Wildfly, so I didn't recognize the errors. Running against the current Glassfish also fails with the 7 errors Christian mentioned.

I tried to patch the Glassfish like we do in our tests (by copying the commands from the Travis script), but it didn't work for me. Maybe additional documentation for this issue would help.

I'd prefer to run the sample against the Jersey as JAX-RS RI instead of RESTEasy, so maybe Payara could be an alternative to Glassfish? I tried this on my machine and it worked without problems.

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

thanks a lot for your feedback and for reviewing the documentation.

One thing I just noticed. The TCK test suite runner template currently runs
the tests against Eclipse Glassfish 5.1.0. But unfortunately 7 tests fails
with a plain Glassfish installation because of two Jersey issues. In case
of Krazo we used the "-patched" profile which replace two Jersey JARs which
patched versions.

@Tobias Did you also patch your Glassfish instance or did you tests against
Wildfly?

I'm just wondering if we should instead run the TCK sample against Wildfly
instead, because this one passes unpatched. Or maybe this isn't real issue
at all if it is documented?

Hi all,

I just read the documentation and didn't find anything to complain
about. As a newbie to spec TCK's, everything was understandable and
clear to me. I checked the links and ran the sample as explained and
everything worked. Only thing I didn't try was the signature test, maybe
someone else can check this chapter (though I think this works as
described too).

So from my side the documentation seems to be OK :)

@Christian: Thanks for writing the documentation. I'm really looking
forward to the final release!

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi all,

I finally found some time to finish the last pending task for the MVC 1.0
TCK, which was the missing TCK documentation. It would be great to get
some
help with reviewing the TCK documentation which can be downloaded here
<
https://oss.sonatype.org/service/local/repositories/snapshots/content/org/mvc-spec/tck/mvc-tck-docs/1.0-SNAPSHOT/mvc-tck-docs-1.0-20191117.074057-1.pdf
.
Beside a general introduction this document also contains information
about
the TCK appeals process, the TCK coverage document and a description
about
how to run the TCK test suite and the signature tests.

If you want to run the tests yourself, please note that the required
artifacts are NOT available in Maven Central yet. So you will have to use
the Sonatype snapshot repository
<https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/> for fetching
the
TCK bits.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I'm currently planning to start with the release process for the
specification, TCK and RI next weekend. So hurry up! :-)

Best regards

Christian
