I'm not sure of how the static Signature TCK tests would be able
to pass against both Jakarta EE 8 + Jakarta EE 9 with only a set
of Jakarta EE 8 SPEC API jars that are configured to be used for
both EE 8 + EE 9 testing. Maybe a Java Agent could help by doing
bytecode transformation but I don't think that bytecode
transformation helps enough, as EE 9 also needs additional schema
support (not important for TCK signature testing but is important
for other TCK testing).
If that were the case, the implementation only needs to be
compatible with a single Jakarta EE version. How is this flawed?

Maybe you ship both sets of APIs, but use the one that is
required depending on the context of the environment?

I have, what may be
a dumb question. If an implementation wanted to support
both Jakarta EE 8 and Jakarta EE 9 using the same binary
and making use of the Eclipse Transformer how would
signature tests be handled given that it wouldn’t ship the
apis for one of the Jakarta EE versions?
Thanks
Steve
