Re: [eclipse.org-planning-council] Next Planning Council call : May2

Yes, I can see that guidance from the community would be expected.
Looking at the package branding on
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/eclipse-packages/ we see that many are
"Eclipse IDE for *" but some are just "Eclipse for *" and those
probably don't fit the current guidelines. Can you comment on their
conformance to the current guidelines?
In the end, "Eclipse IDE" is definitely not very sexy, but if all the
packages were to be branded that way, does it still make sense that the
release train have its own different unique brand? Should we wait and
see what happens to the name of "The Eclipse Project"? Perhaps we might
consider "Eclipse Eclectic" as a name for the train. It is both
descriptive of what the train actually is and it's a simple noun that
has some resonance.

FWIW, I believe that the idea that the Foundation will solely
determine what's on the web page is not a good one. The community
needs to feel some ownership over what we call this as well.
