Yes, this is one of the new things that I'm sure we'll want to include in the page, i.e., specifically mentioning joining the IDE working group or Sponsoring it...

OK, thanks for the info. I didn't realize this tracking was enabled on the startup page. I'm glad to learn it and I think it covers my immediate and further concerns very well.
The current page is quite clear to as "what you can do to support the community," with the suggestions of investing your money or investing your time. That seems a pretty reasonably equal billing to me.
