[udig-devel] Re: sid/tif file support problem fixed
|
Jody,
I've found another related bug for URL->URI paths with spaces. When I
restart uDig and there are maps/layers for it to load from saved
preferences, it won't load anything with spaces in the path. I get the
following debug message when it loads up:
MESSAGE Nothing was able to be loaded from saved preferences:
{URL=file:/C:/Graham/projects/IP%20Systems/Hurricane%2520Ike/Pre/PreIke.sid}
The problem layer will be broken in uDig when it loads.
Graham.

Jody helped me resolve this on IRC. Basically the URLUtils class
tries to convert the file path from a URL to a URI. My file path had
a space in it and wasn't properly handled because of that. Jody
applied a fix to src\net\refractions\udig\catalog\ID.java and that has
resolved the problem. So anyone else having a similar issue with
loading files into uDig with paths that have spaces in them, update
and it should be fixed.
Thanks Jody.
Graham.

Yup, I've done that. So has Emily and she notices the same problem
after updating today. She also noted that there are a bunch of
imageio jars in net.refractions.udig.libs/lib/ which doesn't seem
normal. We're wondering if that is correct or if maybe it is related
to the problem.
There is no stack trace of errors or log. When I try loading a sid
file it just pops up with the message "Unable to recognize service,
choose another".

Be sure to clean and build lobs do you have a attack trace or log?

Well, we had 3 people here at our office update yesterday or today,
and none of them can load sid files. I've tried looking around at
my settings and environment to see if anything else could be
causing it not to work, but I don't see anything yet. If you
update today, does sid still work for you?
Graham.

I'm not sure about the problem, but I can tell that sid, ecw, tiff
and
friends load great on my trunk based Udig. Tested two days ago every
filetype.
I have to say that it is now a week that I do not update. There
should
not have been changes since then anyway.

It looks like the same problem occurs for tif files (they can no
longer be
loaded in uDig), and likely for others too. Emily noticed that the
net.refractions.udig.libs/lib/ folder in Eclipse has a bunch of
imageio jars
in it (when normally it doesn't). Is this problem perhaps caused by
something wrong in the manifest?

Hi,
As the subject says, sid file support no longer works. It says
it can't
find the service. This was working previously and I am using a
JRE with
proper GDAL/Sid support. I updated my trunk yesterday for the
first time in
a few weeks and now I can't import sid files. Perhaps it is
related to the
"raster" sprint of last week?
Does anyone have any ideas of the problem or how to fix this?
Thanks,
