IDS has a WFS and it should be possible for uDig to connect to this - this is the easiest approach as it shouldn't require any coding.

IDS is similar to DB2 so it would be fairly easy to modify the DB2 datastore to support IDS but unfortunately we (IBM) don't have the resources to do this right now.

Justin Deolivera has recently done a bunch of work in Geotools to make implementing JDBC based datastore much easier.
