[incubation] Closing/deleting feature branches in git

Hi,

 

I'm coming from Mercurial and there you typically close a branch. I googled and found that in git you delete it. However as I expected I'm not alllowed to push the delete. Therefore I'm kindly asking what is the recommended practice for handling git-feature branches in the eclipse git envirionment?
