+1 for summaries.

By the way, the marking as duplicate should use the first bug and not the last bug. See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=446362 and try to find the "root" bug, I gave up after 4 hierarchy levels

Agreed. It’s currently taking the first  „suitable match“ but it should use its parent(s) if it’s already a duplicate.

I’ll keep this in mind when improving the duplicate detection.

currently the system creates comments on errors that were reported 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 times in bugzilla.
the dashboard allows you to find the most frequent error reports by selecting a fingerprint in the "STATUS ERROR FINGERPRINTS“ view And start looking for details from there.

Agreed that this is not very usable. But this is the best I can offer at the moment.

At some point a more sophisticated UI is needed than Kibana can offer for this purpose.
This might happen in the next month. As short-term solution I can offer to send a "weekly summary“ email to cross-projects that lists the new reports and gives their frequencies. Maybe this helps a bit?

Would it be possible to give a ranking of the Stacktraces based on identifical stacktraces? For example if the exact same Stacktrace occurs 400 times, it it worth fixing it. We could have a top 10 stacktraces of Eclipse. This would IMHO motivate the project to fix these errors.

Best regards, Lars

The stack traces are not stored in the dashboard. It’s an aggregating view on the data.

Please check the bug list of error reports marked with [platform] in the subject. I also moved a couple frequently occurring reports  to Platform UI for comment.

Thanks,
Marcel

I tried to look at the NPE in the dashboard but it looks to me that the actual stacktrace is not available at the moment.
