One thing to keep in mind, is that there is a new menu extension point 
in Eclipse 3.3 (actually was there in 3.2 as but not as complete).    
I've been working with Amy Wu to see what it would take to migrate the 
WST ui plugins over to the new extension point.

As we go forward, we may want to keep it in mind when working on the UI 
aspect of the XSLT editor and plugins.

I've been documenting my findings in the bug as well as on the wiki 
(link to the page is in the bug).   I think I've gotten around most of 
the hurdles, and should be able to get the proof of concept done on the 
XML editor in the next two weeks.

The advantage to the new extension is that it is much easier for plugins 
to contribute new functionality to existing menus.  Anyways, the bug is at:
