If you are the owner of a validator based on the WTP validation framework please continue to read this e-mail.
Starting with WTP 3.0, a new version of the WTP validation framework is available in the WTP Common Project (org.eclipse.wst.validation.* plug-ins). The majority of validators built on the previous version of the validation framework have since been migrated to the new framework. This migration allowed validator owners to take advantage of a host of new features such as improved filtering rules, dependency re-validation, caching, grouping and more. In order to improve consistency, minimize the maintenance effort and maximize the investment in improving the framework, we propose the following changes for WTP 3.2:
- migrate all remaining "version 1" validators to use the new APIs and
- deprecate the old validation framework APIs
