| Re: [technology-pmc] Termination candidate: Eclipse Babel |
Yes, I've also asked the IDE WG to put this on the agenda. We really have no information about who is consuming this content but one can be sure that any consumers do not read this mailing list.
I do know for a fact that there are consumers and this will have
a negative impact on them.
Hello Technology PMC,
Hello EMO,
I have a question regarding Eclipse Babel termination: what is the planned replacement for its localization functionality?
A lot of Eclipse-based products around the world consumes Babel packages with translated resources for decades.
Termination without replacement may have notable negative impact on Eclipse ecosystem.
Perhaps this termination plan should be announced more widely so that the Eclipse community has a chance to keep this project viable.
Regards,
AF

Based on the project activity, last commit and releases, the EMO has identified the following project as a candidate for termination:
- Eclipse Babel: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.babel
We would appreciate any additional information you can provide about the project's status.
Otherwise we'll proceed to schedule a termination review in the upcoming weeks.
Kind regards,
Carmen Delgado
