When sumo is compiled with gl2ps support (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sumo/sumo-win64extra-1.2.0.zip?download) you can take vector screenshots which don't suffer from resolution problems.

Also, it is possible to get higher resolution bitmap images by increasing the window size beyond the screen size (unfortunately, this only works by manually enlarging and moving the window repeatedly).

about 300m x 300m large. Can I somehow get a higher resolution in the
simulation and when taking screenshots of that simulation (via traci)? I
have a screenshot attached so you can see how it is now. I would like to

Also, when I put a background (a google maps image of the network) via
the background tab in the view settings, the sumo-gui reduces the
resolution of that image quite a bit. Can I somehow prevent that from
happening?
