Please have a look at the contribution guide [1]. If you have any questions, just let me know so that I can help you. Once you got the setup working and feel confident working with it, maybe let me know how you would like to approach the task.

So there should be some hooked up mechanism which does intercept the different phases like meta data extraction and take this information and place is in some sort of "super fast", "super searchable" index system. Performing a search on this index database should result in a set of artifact IDs which match the search criteria.

This includes a basic Web UI in Package Drone, adopting an existing open source indexing system and the integration into the Package Drone system.
