Hi Duncan — see screenshot for what Danny just sent (.ics file) that did NOT work for me. If I click on the attachment, iCal opens, which isn’t helpful since I don’t use it. Nothing ends up on my Google calendar.

All, I think the basic issue is that gmail and outlook calendars use different message formats as default (iCal vs vcalendar). I suggest that outlook users choose the “forward as iCalendar” option when sending invites to the mailing list. A few basic tests indicated that both outlook and gmail calendars could accept that message format and put the meeting invite into the calendar. Duncan Mike, that’s one solution, but I don’t think it’s quite right. I am now subscribed to that calendar, and every meeting on it shows up. I can’t interact with any of the events to accept, decline, delete or whatever. I can just turn the the calendar visibility on and off. Danny, I see that several people were invited via their specific email addresses (Duncan, Kevin D, Kevin M). Can you try adding me as a guest to that meeting using anne.jacko@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ? Hi Danny — I think Duncan is checking on the issue. He said it was added automatically to his calendar, so we don’t know what the problem is. I don’t think there is anything for you to do at this point. Anne Anne Jacko Conference Queen | Eclipse Foundation Eclipse Foundation: The Community for Open Innovation and Collaboration
I sent the invitation from outlook. Do you mean I should send using Google calendar? The invite hopped into my calendar as normal. I’ll see what I can find out. Hi Duncan — Most meeting invitations I get interact with my Google calendar, and the email includes a link to indicate whether I’m going or not. Concurrent with the email, the event is added automatically to my calendar, and I can also go there to indicate whether I’m attending, etc. For this one, the email came in with the necessary info, so I can manually add it to my calendar. But the only way I can send a response — such as saying “I can’t attend the call on <date> because I’m gone” would be to send an email reply, which would go to the list. Is that the process we’re using here? Anne Jacko Conference Queen | Eclipse Foundation Eclipse Foundation: The Community for Open Innovation and Collaboration Could you please clarify what you are asking? Danny send the invite to the mailing list as appropriate I think. It is very nice to know you especially in this way. 😊 Yes, it is a new meeting. I am also new to OpenHWgroup and I am apologize that I did not know that procedure and should send you an individual invitation first. I was heard that the meeting notification is automated. Please let me know the procedure so I can follow. The meeting was discussed and fixe on 1st Wednesday every month at 8:00am. Hi Danny — My Google calendar doesn’t seem to know about this meeting — maybe because you didn’t send me an individual invitation? I can easily add it manually to my calendar, but not sure how I should notify someone if I can’t be at a meeting. For example, I will be OoO the first Wednesday in August.
