Please try to justify your arguments, saying "of course to the left" is not
information that I can act on. As I pointed out on bug the following UIs,
each of which I think has some great UI design components, put key
properties of this sort in a right-aligned column:
* Outlook 2007: status flag/tag is right-aligned
* Thunderbird 2.0: star tag/flag
* Gmail: attachment status

The only actionable information I have right now is that "Eugene Kuleshov
cannot stand the right-aligned flag". This information is weakened by the
fact that you have not tried working with it long enough, or at all, but it
does indicate that there are likely to find this a suboptimal compromise.
I'm in no way wed to keeping incoming on the right, I just want more input,
or a a proposal that works keeps in mind the other design constraints.

At this stage I am completely opposed to making this configurable for the
reasons I tried to explain to you in detail on:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=182772#c18

I want us to settle on a single UI. The old UI is acceptable to settle on
if the improvements are not compelling enough.

If by 2.0 we truly cannot settle on making a UI that is optimized for
intermediates and meets most users' needs than we can add a preference. But
we're not at that stage yet. You can go ahead and make this change as a
patch to the Sandbox and I will apply it, however, I will not make the
change myself because then I will be guaranteed to get less feedback from
people who have an initial bad reaction to the change.
