Re: [lyo-dev] [OSLC - LYO] Share your ideas and needs with the OSLC/Lyo community

I've added a suggestion in the existing item about refactoring Jazz-specific code - namely, updating parts of that code to match current Jazz releases, including making it work for configuration management and the GCM app. I have some code I can share to help with that.

In general, as I've mentioned before in this mailing list, I think that having a lighter-weight Lyo package with more modern dependencies is important, especially for client use. The older 2.x Lyo is extremely heavy for a client. The work that had been done to remove the old Apache Wink is a big step in the right direction - thanks for that!

Nick.

Thanks for organising this, Jad.

I would strongly suggest everyone to put the ideas you want to push for during the call into the roadmap document. I have just changed the permissions to allow edits from anyone:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sPEuunUqg2PKt7GYCACv1IdCIAeZl6vVeDf2vwiNgy8/edit?usp=sharing

Just make sure to follow a few rules:

1) If you suggest a new item, put it under Inbox until the call takes place and make sure your name is also there.
2) If you want to change something, leave a comment unless it's a typo or another minor change.

Dear all

After our latest release of Eclipse Lyo 2.4.0 (https://www.eclipse.org/lyo/), we are now planning the work for the next Lyo release.
To help us take Lyo in the desired direction, it would be great to hear about the needs of the OSLC/Lyo community.
For that, we invite you to join us for an informal telco where we can discuss ideas for the next release. You are welcome to suggest new features you need, maintenance activities and bug fixes from our older releases, documentation, etc.
If interested, please register using the Doodle link below. We will accommodate the format of the event, depending on the size of the audience.

Looking forward to hear from many of you.
