This may be off topic .. but there are two things which I have done in the past.

Eclipse Package Drone [1]

And the "p2tom2" helper which is used in Eclipse NeoSCADA. This one is rather undocumented. But in a few words, it takes a P2 repository + some P2 validation repository and renders a Maven repository in the local file system. Generation POM meta data from the P2 meta data plus a few overrides. I did use to upload NeoSCADA from a P2 repository to Maven central.

Indeed it is!  

It sure would be nice for those of us that wish to create both p2 and maven repos, with features consumable by Eclipse/Equinox via p2, and Karaf features with http and/or maven bundle references.
