  • Thread-topic: [EXTERNAL] Re: [jdt-dev] Red Hat's Future Java Tooling Plans and JDT

Hey Eric (Eric Williams),

  • The issue https://github.com/eclipse-jdt/eclipse.jdt.core/issues/542 given in the mail is about Java 20 support. It may be out of place to do the general discussion there.
  • Really like Ed’s suggestion of using “Discussions”. That would help to capture the points in a more systematic way.  Agree to your point that you can create more issues when we have more inputs and we can hold that finer grain activity for later.  So for a start, let us create one general Discussion thread and let the community put the thoughts there.

Regards,

Manoj

We (Red Hat Eclipse team) are still working on the details for some of
the proposals listed in my original email. Once we have those fully
developed we will open issues to discuss them further.

In the meantime, the community is free to weigh in here:

https://github.com/eclipse-jdt/eclipse.jdt.core/issues/542
https://github.com/eclipse-jdt/eclipse.jdt.core/pull/541

Thanks,
