As a follow up for this thread.
+1, thanks for organizing!
I'm happy to moderate this initiative, How
wants to be part of the panel?
+1, thanks!
The plan can be as simple/agile as:
- Agree on a date and time, a set of
questions, and have a 30 ~ 45 min call with
Q&A about the Jakarta TCK project.
Some previous questions mentioned "how did we get
here, what was the evolution, what ideas do they
have for the future". :)
Some additional questions:
* What is the plan for replacing the Jakarta
Platform TCK use of Jakarta Deployment?
** Could Arquillian be used as a replacement for
Jakarta Deployment?
** How long would it take to replace all RI
specific deployment descriptors with Arquillian
server connectors replacements?
** Could this be done incrementally?
** How much of the code changes could be done by
new community members?
** How would the Arquillian test results be
validated as matching 100% of non-Arquillian test
results?
** Should we start before or after Jakarta EE 9
is released?
** When would the Arquillian support need to be
finished (e.g 100% of validation complete, code
reviews of too many lines of code completed) by?
*** Do we need scripting/tooling to help reduce
the amount of effort to review very large code
changes?
**** Perhaps it could help to be able to hide
some expected code changes, for example, hide
certain changes, like renames of certain words, such
that only unexpected changes would be displayed.
* When will we know the plan for adding new
tests for Jakarta 10?

Scott
- The recording can send it to Marketing to
be edited and uploaded to the JakartaEE
youtube channel [2].
- In parallel we can write a blog post base
on the recorded panel.
Or the panel can be part of the Jakarta
Tech Talk session:
- In terms of date and time, that will
depend in the slot availability of the
current Jakarta Tech Talks [1]. Which
currently shows that August spaces are
free.
- The session is live view crowcast and
youtube. Then it's published in Jakarta
youtube channel [2]
- After the session we can write a blog
post base on the recorded panel.
Hi Team
I was thinking about ways
to increase the community's
participation in the TCK work
for current and
upcoming tasks.
Does provide a video
interview or blog post is
something you may be
interested in scheduled in the
near future?
+1, on the video interview
idea, I don't want to bring anyone
up by name but it would be great
to interview some of the people
that have been developing the
Platform TCK, for many years. As
it would be great to get their
perspective on the Platform TCK
history (how did we get here, what
was the evolution, what ideas do
they have for the future).
That sounds pretty cool and
can be very insightful.
One alternative could be to
have a recorded (Zoom?) meeting
that discusses the Platform TCK
history + ideas for future.
The blog idea sounds great
also, as it can be quicker/easier
to read a blog, than commit to
watching a video.
Other thoughts?
Scott
If yes, I think can use the
muscle Jakarta marketing now
that we have awesome blogs,
social media distribution and
even a dedicated Studio
Jakarta EE youtube channel
[2]:). I'm happy to help to
moderate any of these
initiatives but it will
require the expertise from at
least one more team member. I
was reviewing the current
GitHub issues [1] and I think
there is room for a lot of
contributions.
