I imagine he just meant Java EE 8, for which Jakarta EE 8 is a drop-in replacement.

For me make sense, and just support backward compatibility only from Jakarta EE 9 and beyond, due Jakarta EE 8 still been oracle brand and can be tricky from the legal side handle the support.

I agree with Bill's perspective here. Carlos, I am not sure why you think that Jakarta EE 8 is an Oracle brand, but that's simply incorrect.
