Actually, I guess "isolated" is another viable choice. Greg's
writeup had a better description of these levels.

I added a bunch of questions and comments. Right now I only see
two realistic "levels" (translation and colocation) so you're
going to need to explain your other levels more.

Greg, either do a PR against my branch or just make comments on
the PR and I can incorporate them.
Bill, yes, add your comments to the PR request and
we can discuss there and I can update the PR as we go.
Scott,
your PR is substantially similar to my
own (whew!). I'm happy for you to take the first
go at including anything from my document... or if
you like, I can do a PR against your branch?
cheers
Scott, this plus
Greg's document is a good start, but I have lots
of questions and comments. Where/how would you
like to have that conversation? Do you want to
see comments on GitHub before the PR is approved?
Do you want me to approve the PR and then move the
conversation to the mailing list? Something else?

I have created an initial PR that
includes binary levels of compatibility as I
have been thinking about there here:
I will go through the document
from Greg and augment this with improvements
from his version to pull that content into the
repo.
