Biography:

Werner Keil is a Cloud Architect, Principal Eclipse RCP and Microservice expert for a large bank. Helping Global 500 Enterprises across industries and leading IT vendors.

He worked for over 30 years as IT Manager, PM, Coach, SW architect and consultant for Finance, Mobile, Media, Transport and Public sector.

Werner develops enterprise systems using Java, Java/Jakarta EE, Oracle, IBM, Spring or Microsoft technologies, _javascript_, Node, Angular, dynamic or functional languages, most of them on the JVM.

 

He is Eclipse, Apache Committer and JCP member in JSRs like 354 (Money, also Maintenance Lead), 363, JCP.next, 365 (CDI 2), 366 (Java EE 8), 375 (now Jakarta Security), 380 (Bean Validation 2), 385 (Units 2 also Maintenance Lead) and was the longest serving Individual Member of the Executive Committee for 9 years in a row till 2017. Since the inception of the Jakarta EE WGs and Committees Werner served as Committer representative in the Specification Committee.

Qualification Statement

Werner worked with Java since the first JDK. joined the JCP 16 years ago and served 9 years as EC member, the longest serving Individual member so far. A very active participant in many JSRs from Java ME to EE and beyond in Jakarta EE. Before Oracle acquired BEA, Werner was its only external consultant in the EMEA region.

 

He is author of articles, books and tutorials, regular conference speaker and AdBoard member in several major IT conferences as well as founder or contributor to Open Source projects like Unit-API, JavaMoney, OpenDDR, Eclipse Babel, UOMo, MicroProfile and helps Jakarta EE in several specs, the platform project and the Specification Committee. Werner was among the first 7 Java EE Guardians when the group started under that name and is now after its rebranding to Jakarta EE Ambassadors member of the Leadership Council.
