To everyone who contributes to project (s) under the Eclipse Foundation,
I am going to be honest, I am deeply disappointed that the Eclipse Foundation Management has chosen to insert the Eclipse word in the Jakarta EE project. Many tries but the latest one I cannot let slide. Jakarta EE Working Group Agreement NOT approved by the WG.
Reminder that the name of the project was chosen by the Java EE Community via a public vote by close to 7,000 votes as listed on this article by InfoWorld.
Important: The Foundation has no say/no power on the Jakarta EE Management & leadership (NO VOTE). But continued actions continue to push for the contrary. Your actions cannot longer go unnoticed & cannot longer be handled via private mediums.
The latest insult to this project Community is the legal adjustment of the Jakarta EE Working Group Agreement, changing the name is a serious threat.
Tomitribe as many other Members signed the Jakarta EE agreement, which we helped write back in 2018/19. Please see below a copy of what it was signed & what needs to be. It is NOT right nor correct what is shown today in the public Jakarta EE WG Agreement.
I can no longer let things continue sliding in the dark. Moving backgrounds instead of forwards. This forum will get updates of what's what until finally the 3 Committee calls become public and recorded so that the light is the protected of the project itself.
On the MicroProfile side, I already pulled in the Eclipse Board of Directors via the public forum, I asked for their attention, for help to zoom- in and pay closer attention to the actions of those behind the management of the foundation.
It has become a deeply exhausting, bothersome & sadly unnecessary task to flight on fixing ( that was never meant to exist in the first place)
WHY THE HELL ARE WE HERE?
Projects & diverse communities are not being created or moved to the Eclipse Foundation to serve the EF's internal goals.
The point is that:
The Eclipse Foundation is meant to be the soil that allows for the opportunity/conditions of growth & development where individuals and corporations, alike can be nutrients & equal participants.
To the EF: I don't know where that message was lost. But I ask you to shake what current is and to be true to what the Foundation is meant to do.
To Jakarta EE contributors & committers & to every committer of the Eclipse Foundation--- is what I have shared in this message doesn't concern you, shake you- ask yourself why that is.
