Re: [incubation] "Masquerade as project lead" question

That option (on http://portal.eclipse.org) is available only to members of the various PMCs. I believe that the only practical use for that functionality is for a PMC member to retire inactive committers on behalf of the project lead.

The feature used to be more meaningful, but we've been moving the functionality that had been made available with this feature either into the PMI or the EF Accounts. Migrating and retiring the portal is a medium priority task that we're chipping away at.

The root issue report that we're using to track this effort is here https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=469321

Hi,
I noticed on my Eclipse foundation portal page, I have an entry similar to this:

"Masquerade as project lead for:" and then it lists an Eclipse project with a button action for [become].

What exactly does this action do?  Not sure if I should be clicking this or just leaving it alone for now...

Thanks, Kevin
