Re: [equinox-dev] Equinox console not working

So far it's not really clear how to launchg a console...

I tried to download full SDK (equinox-SDK-LunaSR1.zip) and there is a launcher file packed into org.eclipse.equinox.executable_root.gtk.linux.x86_64_3.6.100.v20140819-1617 file which seem appropriate for my OS setup, I tried to launch it and it opens a gtk window which says

The Launcher executable launcher was unable to locate its
companion shared library.

So I tried to use plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.1.200.v20140603-1326.jar but it has no manifest file...I'm completely lost now.

Maybe you can recommend me some beginners guide which actually works for recent equinox release?

Thanks

However, the equinox console with (accompanied by felix gogo bundles) has lots of bug fixes so I recommend it.

The built-in console was removed, as per the release notes.

Hello,

I've just downloaded the recent release version of equinox and tried to follow the quick start guide, but even launching OSGI console didn't work for me.
I tried to launch it like that:

$ java -jar org.eclipse.osgi_3.10.1.v20140909-1633.jar -console

and it didn't return anything, it seems like it launched but not returned a console.

I'm running ubuntu 14.04 x64 and have OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.5.2) (7u65-2.5.2-3~14.04) installed.

Any suggestions?

Best regards
