Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] ECE schedule 2013

Christian, Anne.

When will you publish the schedule?
We would like to post a link to the agenda ASAP, and we also have a press release in the pipeline etc. We also want to further leverage the social network and speaking opportunities, referring to the event(s). So the sooner we get the marketing machine steaming, the better ;-)

Thanks,
Susan

Hi Sebastian,

I did the moved the talks that you proposed.  I moved the Gamification thing to a different spot from where you proposed, simply because I also wonna see it.

I believe this program is really tricky, at least thats my perception. Its really wonderful and for most time slots I have at least 2 talks I want to see. So same as you I am trying to lay a path so I can see as many interesting topics as possible. And the program looks really way better than last year to me. So much interesting stuff....

And BTW I think its fair to do that,  because our task is also to represent certain points of views from the audience since not everybody can be in PC. So people like to go to Modeling, others to XText other to cool stuff or _javascript_ and we have good representation in the PC.

I marked all talks that I changed with a redish background color, so that you know what to check. (And Anne and Roxanne know what to change in the conference system)

Every talk now has already its scheduling information, so that speaker can see when they speak. I've heard that Chris is working on getting a scheduling webpage up (or is going to work on that).

So I think given the feedback we consider the schedule as "thats it", thanks for feedback. Once the schedule is live, we can still shift stuff around, but its a little extra effort, because we should ask and notify the speaker then.

Hi Christian,

my thoughts on the schedule:

Tuesday:
15:45-16:20: This slot has 3 topics which may attract a similar audience, namely Xtend, Scala IDE and Java memory management, at least I would like to see all of these. Would it be possible to move the exchange the EGit thing with the Scala talk?

Wednesday:
I'd really like to see either the Vert.x talk or the Gamification thing. Can one of these be moved to the empty slot at 15:15-15:50 - though this will depend on the directors pick... Maybe the CDO talk can be moved to the first slot instead (since I also assume that this aims at a slightly different audience than the other talks in that slot)?

Thursday:
13:30-14:05: What you get for free with Xtext and Xcore meets IncQuery may also target the same people. Can the IncQuery talk be moved exchanged with the BIRT talk in the slot thereafter?

Regards,
Sebastian

hi,

I have completed the schedule now. I pretty unhappy that no one
replied yet. Please acknowledge, that you looked at the schedule and
find it ok.. on the mailing list.. Or make suggestions (as described
yesterday) what you like to change.

This is an action item for the Eclipse side of the PC, although I
appreciate any input from the OSGi people. But the schedule is done
seperate. The OSGi schedule is already fixed and I have reserved
slots for the OSGi talks in my schedule.

The second action item is to write blog post or any other kind of
posts on FB, Twitter, Google + or whereever about ECE 2013. We need
to promote the conference to attract people.
You might as well name you top talks or whatever helps. If you have a
blog post, send an URL to it to Roxanne Joncas
<roxanne.joncas@xxxxxxxxxxx> so that we can promote it on the Eclipse
channels.

I think we are up for a great program and we need to speak about it.
Interest in the tutorials seems to be a little different from our
personal preferences. I did some adjustments based on the first
registration numbers, but we will check that number on a regular base
and send decide the room based on that...

thanks

christian
