Hi,
After some communication
with Anne and thinking forward and backward, the current
telco plan puts a lot of expectation, risk and time on the
telco on the 20th of August.
This maybe be not such a
good idea.
The program MUST be
final on the 21th so the EF can put it on the website etc.
So I think it would be
wise to leave most of the telco dates unchanged but adjust
the agenda for them and add one more telco into the plan.
-
16th
next week is early bird selection
-
1st
(new) August I will make a Google spreadsheet available with
all sessions and we have a first telco where we talk about
what to do and how to do the first round
-
6th
(we would like to review the first round and see which
sessions should be kicked out, every PC member needs to only
look at a part of all sessions (25% as discussed earlier))
o That leaves only 2. and 3. for everyone to
review. We can move that a few days later (NOT the 8th)
like 7th or 9th of August if people
feel better about that
-
13th
(all remaining sessions where reviewed by everyone by then)
we go through all of them, discuss different opinions, make
notes if we need to encourage people to extend their
abstract to qualify if an abstract looks short but
promising) after the call we have a fairly rough but not
final list
-
20th
(we look at feedback that we have got and make a final final
decision on the program)
That way 13th
and 20th will be our main calls but by
distributing the load they should have a reasonable length.
Please PC members look
in your calendar what is in their for the 2nd and
3rd of August. If you have enough time to review
session. I estimate (depending on the total number of
session) that you need 4-6 hours to do a thorough review of
the sessions. If that is a problem we should shift the telco
on the 6th to a later day in the week. However
shifting also means that you have less time for the second
round.
I will add a column for
1st on the Google Spreadsheet. The Google Email
address on the spreadsheet is something I need to share the
session spreadsheet with everyone. While the calendar is
public, I don’t plan to make the session spreadsheet a
public document but rather only share it with people on the
PC or people interested (who or on this mailing-list)
BTW: We will have John
Arthorne on the calls. He is listing in as a “chicken”
(listening not voting). He is the program chair of ECON 2013
in NA and asked whether he could watch us to get ideas for
his turn next year.
Ok does this modified
plan work for everyone ? Feedback is welcomed. Also we can
decide on moday which time we like for the telcos. While the
telco on Monday is 17:30 CEST we can change that for
subsequent telcos if that is more convenient.
Thanks
Christian Campo
