[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Keynote suggestions

Hi,

I would love to have a keynote by someone from the "Open Source Hardware"and/or "DIY" world. I really like the idea of having a keynote not too much focused on actual software, and the philosophy of Open Source Hardware and DIY movements is IMO very interesting: engineers, artists, hobbyists, designers, … collaborating to make stuff, be it a useless gadget, or something much more like art. There is an incredible amount of mindblowing projects coming out of these communities (e.g. see http://www.creativeapplications.net/ ), and having a live demo of one or two of them would make the keynote very entertaining!

I am thinking of Limor Fried from Adafruit, a company selling do-it-yourself electronic kits that are 100% open source (that is, the PCB layout data, the embedded software if any, the instructions, etc…). Not only she is a girl (how many times have we had a female keynote speaker, eh?), but the business-model of her company is very interesting, plus she can bring some cool demos with her!

Since Limor Fried is living in the US and it might not be possible to have her, thus we could probably get someone from Arduino (http://arduino.cc), since they are in Italy, to tell us the story of the Arduino community.

In general, and I said that already, I would really love to get at least a keynote that is not 100% related to software (Cameron Sinclair comes to mind too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdcqEjmuxjA)
