[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Unconference and BoFs
|
Here's a simple proposal for organizing these.
Unconference
The Unconference is an after-hours activity where the EclipseCon
organizers make rooms and projectors available for use by the
conference attendees. What the organizers do not provide is any
content. The Unconference is an opportunity for attendees to make
informal talks about their own particular topics - all you need to do
on the day is put the details of your talk on a notice board and then
turn up with your slides or your speech. (see attachment - this is
what the board would look like :) The board goes up after the
business of the day is done, i.e. after the last panel, although
we may need to put it up earlier on the first day.
So, for the Unconference, I'd like to reserve 3 rooms, with projectors,
in the evening for two hours - there's 4 slots per room, basically the
the standard talk size slot. This could be useful for people who are
giving talks during the day to give demos, or extra talk information,
and that kind of thing.
BoFs
The other after-hours spaces are offered as BoF spaces, and are
organized and booked in advance through the submission system,
in the same fashion as has gone before for previous EclipseCons.
comments, etc, welcome!
