Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Build and Continuous Integration Tentative Accept

A little. Not sure we need a tutorial per se, but it was one of those on my "pain list". So hey ... I'll give you my whole list! :)
None of these I'd want to "go to the mat" for ... but surprised me when I saw they weren't accepted, or at least did not
have more comments.
As others of you review the lists you might give these a second look?
We can see if anyone else is surprised or if (eventually) they deserve some discussion?
I know we are trying to find ones to _remove_ not _add_ but I'll rest easier just knowing someone
else looked at these (a second time) to know we were not making some goofy mistakes.

1419 emf <--> xml (always popular)

1175 b3 (covered else where?)

1274 a specific competitive analysis (we should encourage?)

1285 doc crowd sourcing. State of the art?

1438 creating plugins (do we have enough basic beginner stuff?)

1446 source editing is very interesting stuff (but I'm biased :)

1459 Do we have enough P2 stuff?

Thanks,

My concern is not enough p2 tutorial content. p2 is the technology we developed at Eclipse and powers Eclipse from a build and provisioning standpoint.

Does anyone share a similar concern?

b3, buckminster, athena, pde build, tycho use some aspect of p2 under the covers.

I would have loved to have all the Build stuff be tutorials, however, I'm trying to give equal time to each of the approaches.   Thus why all the Build tutorials, were hacked to 25 minute talks otherwise there wasn't going to be room to get any of them in place.

There is always the unconference to have some more hands on items in the evening.   The conference in general is looking like it is going to be over hours on tutorials.

I would like to see some type of p2 tutorial at EclipseCon.

There's constant complaints from the community about the lack of documentation and examples out there, this would be a good opportunity to produce that.

So I'm a bit dismayed that 1327 was knocked down a bit.
