Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Keynote Ideas
|
+1 on Mala Devlin
+0 on Dave Thomas. l I think Dave Thomas' keynote at ESE was good. I
could be convinced to have him join us at EclipseCon.
+0 on Martin Fowler. I could be convinced.
-1 on Kent Beck. As much as I hate to say it, I'm cold on Kent Beck. I
have tremendous respect for the man, but I feel that he's gone a little
funny over the last few months and am concerned about too much
negativity in the message.
I'm definitely interested in "Uncle" Bob Martin, but need to think about
it a little more. I'm a little concerned that Ward Cunningham could
still be seen as an insider. I'm not sure if that's bad or not.
Some other ideas (not necessarily good, I need to think a little more
about some of these): Adele Goldberg, Tim Bray, Harry Shearer. Okay that
last one is just plain silly. Or is it?

+1 on Mala since enterprise deployment of Eclipse is one of the hot
topics of the day and the best source of new investment in Eclipse
going forward IMHO.
+1 for Uncle Bob. Been following him on twitter. Definitely a source
of spark. It might be nice to bring back Ward Cunningham too.
Might I also suggest Dave Thomas. The Europeans got a good taste of
him last year. The NA's could use a good dose too :).
