Hi all...
After getting the great
feedback from Mike M & Martin on what it takes to nominate someone for the
Architecture Council, I'd like to nominate Linda Chan as a potential candidate
for the EAC.
Linda leads the Open Data Access development
in the DTP Connectivity sub-project, as well as serve on the PMC since DTP
started, and works for Actuate Corporation. She also serves as the DTP
Incubator project lead.
Through the last few years, she's been instrumental
in helping shepherd the Data Tools Platform project
from its inception to where we are today. She always has the best interests of
not only DTP in mind, but the DTP and BIRT communities as well, making sure
that changes we make a) make sense and b) add value.
She is not afraid to speak her mind on topics
affecting not only coding in DTP, but policies and procedures as well. She
often brings up points of view that quite frankly didn't occur to me or other
members of the DTP PMC, which is nearly always refreshing.
Over the last year, she's been mentoring the
Ecore-ODA project in the DTP Incubator and we've seen it grow not only
technologically, but by leaps and bounds in the community. She was
instrumental in helping the developers working on the project get their feet
pointed in the right direction.
As such, I think her technological chops,
community-driven mindset and mentoring skills would make her a great candidate
for the AC. With the AC taking more of an active "steering committee" approach
now in terms of mentorship, providing solid examples, and helping guide
policies and procedures where necessary, Linda would fit right in and be
willing to contribute immediately to the broader Eclipse community.
Please vote for recommending Linda Chan to
Mike as a new EAC member.
+1 from Brian Fitzpatrick
Thanks!
