RE: [eclipse.org-architecture-council] ACface-to-facemeetings atESE (around Nov 19) and SFO (around Dec 10)
|
We had a meeting like this last year. We didn't talk much about the AC,
but it was great to get together anyway :)
Cheers,
DOug.

Hi Martin...
I'll be there and be happy to meet everybody at dinner that
night. I'll be at the hotel sometime that afternoon, so 7pm at the hotel
should work out fine for me.
Even if we don't have a detailed agenda, I'd be happy to put
faces with names and voices. :)

Right!
sed -e 's/Oct/Nov/g' -- Doug Schaefer was the only one who
noticed when filling
in the Wiki page, all others just copied and pasted. I fixed it.
Sure, we're talking
about 18-Nov for a meeting.
Cheers,

I won't be at ESE 2008 unfortunately, but isn't it in November?
As in, Tuesday 18-Nov as opposed to Oct?

[eclipse.org-architecture-council] AC face-to-facemeetings at ESE
(around Nov 19) and SFO (around Dec 10)
Hi all,
looking at the Wiki pages:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_ESE_2008
<http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_ESE_2008>
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_SFO_2008
<http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_SFO_2008>
it looks like there's no good slot aside the SFO meeting, though
I'll leave it for those who are in SFO to decide: please let
Don/Anne
know if you'd like a room reserved.
For ESE, it looks like dinner together on Tuesday 18-Oct should
work out for most. What about 19:00 at hotel Nestor? Other
suggestions are welcome.
Let's use the mailing list for date/time/location/agenda
suggestions.
One drawback of meeting for dinner is that we won't be able to
have a phone line for remote call-ins that way. I don't think
that's too bad since we'll have our monthly meeting just on
Thursday
the week before. Anyways, if any folks not able to attend in
person would like to dial in remotely, please let me know.
We'll then need to look for a meeting room with conference
phone,
and likely have the meeting at 18:00 right after the symposia.
Cheers,

Subject: [eclipse.org-architecture-council] [URGENT] AC
face-to-facemeetings at ESE (around Nov 19) and SFO (around Dec 10)
Importance: High
Hi all,
your action is required until this Friday Oct 24 9:30am EST
latest,
by filling in attendance info in the 2 Wiki pages mentioned
below.
Gunnar has reminded me that we could organize an AC face-to-face
meeting
at Eclipse Summit Europe (Nov 17-20). I think that's a great
idea, especially
since I'm also going to be there :-). I know that previous such
meetings have
suffered from a chronic lack of agenda, but looking at our past
meetings and
the AC bug backlog on bugzilla I'm confident that we'd have
enough to talk
about.
Don has also asked whether we'd like to have an AC face-to-face
alongside
the Board meeting in SFO (December 10/11) - looks like this has
historically
happened most previous years, and they'd like to get
confirmation soon
(end of this week!) in order to reserve some space if necessary.
So let's sort out some logistics:
* Who's going to be there? - Given that our "remote"
operations work
reasonably well and we don't have any fixed schedule to
make, I
don't think that anybody should travel just for the F2F.
* What's a good meeting time? Depending on travel
arrangements of
participants and other obligations.
To avoid unnecessary mail-bombing, I have created 2 Wiki pages:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_ESE_2008
<http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_ESE_2008>
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_SFO_2008
<http://wiki.eclipse.org/Architecture_Council/F2F_SFO_2008>
Please fill in the pages with your regrets if you won't come or
arrival /
departure info if you will be in town until Friday 9.30am EST
latest.
Copy&Paste is your friend on the Wiki! Add comments on the
"Notes" section.
Comments are totally free (could also be like "this is a waste
of time"), but
please put your name in front of any comment.
I'd also like to see if the Wiki works better than bugzilla for
such an
announcement and our group size, so please let us know (via note
on
the Wiki) if you encounter any problems such as merge issues, or
you'd like to propose a different means for such organization.
Thanks,
