Hey Doug G, Same thing occurs on Lotus Notes, so I just copy/paste the text of
the Google notice over my meeting text when it gets updated. 

+1 for public calendars, which seem to help the process more than hinder. Also
aids in transparency, which is a goal is it not? Google seems to be the most
unified solution, though Yahoo is doing beta testing on an updated version of
their calendar as well
