I can see benefits to either option.
Already having an eclipse-scripting-dev mailing list allows you to have a specific identity and provides focus to your communications. It can be a focal point while building the eclipse scripting community.
But of course you would be welcome in e4-dev, meeting invites and all :-) The current e4-dev policy is "there's no such thing as spam in an open project".
