Thread-topic: eclipse as an applet

I'm looking at writing an applet using the eclipse SDK.  
I'm concerned about problems that would be encountered by clients which don't have eclipse installed.
Especially on non-windows platforms.  Is there a way to automagically download the eclipse rte via
the applet, sort of like the JAVA plugin can do?

Also, how do I access the archives to look for stuff there?
