Better Documentation and a few Hello World Tutorials [message #1220198] Tue, 10 December 2013 05:47 Go to next message

I have been trying to setup Sirius project but could not figure out how to do it let alone the ability to define a Visual DSL in few minutes mainly due to unfamiliarity of the modeling framework.

So is it possible to have a series of introductory tutorials which would take you through the steps on how an application is build. Also introducing the other technologies used and how this is used without assuming familiarity of the technology.

Hi,

first of all, thanks for your interest in Sirius.

A 4' tutorial is available on the Sirius website [1] (and [2] for the
plugins to use)

As mentionned in [3], there are many examples that work with the
pre-Sirius version of the code, which was code-named Viewpoint and
available as part of Obeo Designer [4]. If that's OK for you, you can
get an evaluation version of Obeo Designer (time-limited, but with no
feature restriction) and follow the included "Getting Started" guide.
You can also find example modelers at [5].

If you are looking for more genaral information about the modeling
framework, please look into [1] and [2].

Regards,

Maxime
