My lack of knowledge with the interface and limited oracle
spatial (Locator) is a huge disadvantage. It is very likely I
should have started with smaller steps like using a shp file
and learn how to use the u/i instead of trying learn both!! I
have answered your questions below, but I will definetly
understand if you reply with RTFM!!!

The funny thing is I don't get any errors. I'm just not sure I
know how to properly use the uDig interface. I can delete a
feature. I apparently don't know how to add a feature to a
layer from oracle. I can even go as far to modify the feature
but the save option is not available.
