Re: [udig-users] ArcSDE and Oracle Spatial
|
I'm just using the RC14 download.
I hope this list is moderated. There's an oracle jar in the distribution.
I was originally using this jar. I switched it with the Oracle driver
from the installation that I'm connecting to (ojdbc14.jar), but I get
the same result.
If I run it from the SDK, will I get a stack trace or something that I
can debug this better?

I don't have an Oracle to connect to right now; but I have recently
used the ArcSDE DataStore. The trick in both these cases is to make
sure the jdbc drivers have been set in the Preference page (and you
may need to restart uDig after that).
For both oracle and arcsde we cannot distribute the jars
(congratulations you found are too most annoying cases!)
I'm trying to add layers from either an ArcSDE or Oracle Spatial
source. When I try from Oracle Spatial, I go through the steps,
connect to the database, but when I get to the "Resource Selection"
screen, my only option is "Unable to recognize service, choose another"
When I try from an ArcSDE source, I get a "Connection parameters are
invalid" error.
Any ideas? Oracle10g Spatial, ArcSDE 9.2, uDig 1.1-RC14
I new to this stuff (I'm a programmer), so I wouldn't doubt I'm just
doing something stupid.
Are you doing this just using the RC14 download (ie the application),
or are you connecting using Java code as a programmer?
