The ArcSDE spatial database gateway adds vector and raster geospatial support to some relational databases. Currently uDig only supports vector ArcSDE feature types. Support for ArcSDE rasters should be added in a way that integrates seamlessly with the uDig catalog, like in when setting up a new ArcSDE data source, the catalog entry should contain the list of both vector and raster resources.
