Mark just verified that the SDK Quickstart + Custom App works; so my next questions is to ensure the copy that is published is the latest.

The trick thus far is to ensure the udig_lanaguage feature is not included in your custom app feature; if it is included you get the error message you have both described.

I do note that the error is with respect to an internationalisation plugin (a german translation)... so I am going to start looking in the udig_language feature.

udig-1.2-M9-sdk was created against Eclipse 3.5.1 ...

When you tried to make a custom app using Eclipse 3.5.2 if failed .... it was looking for a version of a plugin with 3.5.1 in the version number.-

So it could not find 3.5.1.v3555a.

What you describe did not make too much sense for configuration ... I am expecting:

uDig 1.2-RC2 :-)

dropins-3.5.2  (this is the replacement for "extras")

eclipse modeling SR2 (ie Eclipse 3.5.2)

eclipse 3.5.2 delta pack

jre1.6.0_17.win32_gdal_ecw

To use an older copy of uDig SDK you would need to hunt down the version of eclipse used at that time...

The product export part is the first chance you get to see if your SDK Quickstart was done correctly.

Everything works fine up until the the Product Export part. I was able to load the custom app with the Distance Tool and custom icons and images but I receive the follow error when I try to export the app:

'Export Product' has encountered a problem.

Initially thought that it was Vista's fault so I tried it again on Windows XP on Virtualbox but I still received the same error. I'm new to the Eclipse RCP platform and uDig btw. Any help would be appreciated.
