RE: [tools-pmc] PMC approval needed for committer vote for Kalin

Interesting angle. Voting is only one part of being a committer. Getting write access to things is another. I am hesitant giving write access to testers to anything, unless they are contributing tests. But then we should have seen examples of this in the contribution log.

That's novel ... so would be good to ask.

But, besides "committing code", its my understanding a committer can be anyone who contributes in any way to the project, and being a committer gives them "voting rights" on issues in the project (if a vote was ever needed). So ... maybe this "decision maker" role is what they had in mind?

Hi Team,

These two team members are strictly testers who have raised these Bugzillas against PDT. I guess we need to question their request for commit rights since they have not actually made any code contributions?
