[tools-pmc] RE: committer status change for Gail Murphy

Yup, I saw that page, but at first didn’t find a hover that defined Committer Emeritus, so I still didn’t have enough to go on in order to decide whether to make Gail one or not.  Then I went back to your message and I had enough info.  So my thinking is that if you put something like the third-to-last paragraph of your message, and maybe a link to bug 222350, on the following document it would be sufficient.

https://dev.eclipse.org/portal/myfoundation/tests/swim.php?file=committer_removal/project_lead_decommitterizes_committer_and_then_committer_becomes_emeritus.txt&lines=7

Btw, it’s great that you guys implemented the Committer Emeritus status before encouraging the clean-up.

Mik,
Thanks for being an early adopter.

* The text I saw was: "This action will be announced on the project mailing
list (equinox-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx)."  Seems that it should have either said
"e.g. ..." or "mylyn-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx".

Oops, that was a bug (kind of a large bug). https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=227244
We'll get a fix rolled out before tomorrow morning.

* I navigated the "explore" button which showed a neat process chart where I
expected to see a definition of "Committer Emeritus" linked, but I didn't
find one and went back to Bjorn's message to figure that out.

I clicked on explore and got here:
https://dev.eclipse.org/portal/myfoundation/tests/explore.php?component=project_committer&class=project_committer&action="">
Which includes a "project lead decommitterizes committer and then committer becomes emeritus" - did you see that? Was that not sufficient explanation? What would you suggest instead?

- Bjorn
