We recognize that this GSoC season has been exceptionally busy already. Several organizations have reported feeling overwhelmed by the high volume of applicant inquiries and the increasing use of AI bots to spam mentors. We even had an org that had to turn off GitHub for a few days because too many PRs were coming in without any kind of initial communication.
To address these challenges, we are hosting a live moderated discussion for GSoC Org Administrators and Mentors to share the tools, processes, and effective strategies that have helped them. Meeting notes will be shared afterward for those unable to attend.
Willing to share your learnings?
If your organization has implemented a tool or process that has significantly helped manage increased applicant attention or mitigate AI-generated spam, we encourage you to share your experiences with the community during this talk.
Google Admins will facilitate the session, but the insights will come from all of you—the mentors and org admins navigating these issues daily. We look forward to learning from the creative solutions you have implemented.

Newly Added Resources to help Mentors and Org Admins
How to avoid, identify, and quickly sort through AI generated contributor proposals - This is a document created from Mentor Summit discussions and the Mentor survey last fall. We will add to it based on the discussion in this Thursday's chat. A lot has likely changed in the 5 months since this was put together and we're looking forward to adding more tips from all of you to help the GSoC community.
