In 3.5 PDE provides an option to export in the running instance.
If you want to give that to your friends you need to create a feature patch

hi,
I have customized plug-in (say org.eclipse.equinox.p2.reconciler.dropins 
or org.eclipse.jdt.core - doesn't matter), how to add it to Eclipse to 
be sure, that p2 will pick it up?
I have increased the version number both in file name and in manifest, 
tried to put plug-in into dropins or bundle pool, but all the time old 
plug-in is picked.
Tried with 3.4.1 and 3.5M4
