Dear OpenVSX community,
From 21–23 April 2026, developers, contributors, and industry leaders will gather in Brussels for Open Community Experience (OCX).
As part of OCX, the Open Community for Tooling collocated event (formerly EclipseCon) will bring together the people shaping modern developer environments, IDE platforms, extensions ecosystems, and AI-assisted tooling.
This program explores how open source tools evolve, integrate, and scale across distributed teams and cloud-native environments. Topics include web-based IDEs such as Theia, extension development, language servers, modeling tools, AI-enhanced development workflows, and the foundations that power today’s developer experience.
OCX places tooling in direct conversation with adjacent domains like AI, automotive, compliance, IoT, and research, reflecting how developer platforms increasingly sit at the centre of larger industry ecosystems.
In addition to the conference agenda, OCX will also host several hands-on workshops for developers who want to delve deeper into specific topics. For instance, the three-hour workshop “Systematic AI Coding for Real-World Projects” will explore practical approaches to integrating AI into real development workflows. You can explore the full list of workshops here.
